About the Team
The Risk Program Management Office sits at the intersection of Operations, Go-To-Market (GTM), and Risk Compliance. The team enables users to meet evolving compliance standards in a complex regulatory environment by coordinating cross-functional stakeholders across Operations, Product, Engineering, GTM, and other teams.
The team is expanding into new markets as part of a major strategic priority. This role focuses on high-impact, global-scale projects, building programs from the ground up, and operating at the intersection of compliance, strategy, and execution.
Responsibilities
People Leadership
- Recruit, train, and lead a global team of Program Managers.
- Inspire, motivate, and support the development and career growth of direct reports.
- Develop the team's long-term vision and strategy and drive progress toward key metrics.
- Coach, mentor, and guide the team in program management and operational excellence.
- Build a strong team culture across a distributed, multi-time-zone environment.
New Markets Program Management
- Own end-to-end program management for a large and growing portfolio of programs, with a focus on APAC.
- Drive operational readiness across workstreams by tracking milestones, surfacing risks, and unblocking dependencies.
- Operate effectively in a high-ambiguity, zero-to-one environment and determine the appropriate approach without an established playbook.
- Build repeatable frameworks, playbooks, and reporting standards for a growing and complex portfolio.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the senior Risk PMO representative in global forums and senior-level conversations across Stripe.
- Coordinate across Risk teams, including Operations, Product, Engineering, and Strategy, to ensure alignment and execution.
- Develop partnerships across Legal, Finance, Treasury, Partnerships, and Product teams.
- Shape Stripe's solutions, navigate competing priorities, and ensure clear ownership throughout execution.
- Partner closely with executive sponsors and cross-functional leadership.
Operations
- Identify operational impacts, conduct gap assessments, and address other operational considerations for new-market launches.
- Ensure operational readiness across a complex portfolio of programs, including forecasting, monitoring, and last-mile execution.
- Maintain operational rigor and execution discipline across the team and function.
- Embody Stripe's Operating Principles and foster its values and culture.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in program management, strategy and operations, business operations, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of people management experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity and build from zero to one.
- Strong program management skills, including managing multi-workstream initiatives, surfacing risks early, and maintaining stakeholder alignment.
- Strong cross-functional leadership experience aligning Product, Engineering, GTM, and Operations teams toward shared goals.
- AI fluency, including active use of AI tools to accelerate work and the ability to explain how and where they are applied.
- Experience working across global teams and time zones, with flexibility to regularly join calls outside standard business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with international expansion, market entry, regulatory, or licensing programs.
- Previous experience at a technology company; fintech or payments experience is a plus.
