Details
Stripe's Marketplaces product team owns the financial infrastructure that marketplace platforms use to move money between buyers, sellers, and themselves. The role focuses on multi-party fund flows, cross-border money movement, platform controls, and regulatory requirements.
The Product Manager will lead the Marketplaces product suite, translating legal constraints, engineering implementations, and platform business logic into scalable product solutions. This includes co-designing APIs with flagship users, improving fund flow infrastructure, and expanding global payout capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Engage directly with flagship marketplaces to understand charge types, transfer logic, payout schedules, reserve policies, and edge cases at scale, and use these insights to set product direction.
- Co-design and pressure-test APIs with reference users through structured early-access programs.
- Work with marketplace engineering and finance teams to identify blockers to global expansion.
- Maintain relationships with flagship accounts and collaborate with Enterprise Sales and Solutions Engineering to turn user learnings into scalable product decisions.
- Improve core fund flow primitives, including debits and transfers, to make them more reliable, transparent, and globally available.
- Build closed-loop wallet infrastructure for commercial marketplaces where buyers hold and respend balances.
- Expand cross-border payout coverage through additional currencies, corridors, and faster settlement speeds.
- Enable multi-processor fund flows and unified payouts through Stripe, including PSD3-compliant funding flows in the EU.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, including at least 2 years focused on payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure.
- Experience shipping products across multiple teams while navigating technical complexity and regulatory or compliance constraints.
- Ability to read code, write coherent specifications, evaluate API designs, and contribute credibly to engineering discussions without writing production code.
- Strong data fluency, including SQL, and the ability to form causal hypotheses about changes in metrics.
- Ability to build alignment across engineering, legal, and business functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at a two-sided marketplace or platform as a builder or operator, with knowledge of multi-party money movement, seller onboarding, and reconciliation.
- Familiarity with Stripe Connect or equivalent platform-payment products such as Adyen for Platforms, Braintree Marketplace, Hyperwallet, or Payoneer.
- Experience designing or improving financial reconciliation and settlement reporting for platforms or sellers.
- Experience taking products from private or public preview to general availability, including driving self-serve activation, packaging, and pricing.
