Details
Reddit’s Ads Business Engineering team operates at the intersection of engineering, product, sales, and business development. The team delivers technical expertise and solutions that help technology partners, agencies, and advertisers integrate with Reddit’s advertising platform. This role focuses on AdTech integrations, strategic partnership programs, and scaling Reddit’s developer ecosystem.
The Business Engineer will provide technical consulting and hands-on engineering support for Reddit’s advertising API products and platform integrations. The role includes guiding strategic integrations, contributing directly to implementations across Reddit’s systems or partner codebases, advising important advertising partners, and helping define a scalable developer ecosystem strategy.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted technical advisor and solutions architect for strategic partners and direct advertisers, guiding them through the integration and adoption of Reddit’s advertising APIs and tools.
- Design and prototype proof-of-concept solutions that accelerate technical enablement and create value for partners and direct advertisers. Prototypes may be built in Reddit’s systems or within client and partner codebases.
- Collaborate with engineering teams at partner and direct advertiser organizations to optimize performance, address integration gaps, and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Lead onboarding, testing, and pre-launch support to ensure smooth and successful implementations.
- Represent partner and advertiser technical needs internally, surfacing feedback and influencing product and platform priorities.
- Support escalations for complex or high-impact integrations and provide clear, actionable direction to resolve blockers quickly and sustainably.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience, with a strong track record of owning end-to-end technical projects and coordinating across organizations.
- Hands-on coding expertise in one or more modern programming languages, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Node.js, with a focus on backend or API development.
- Proven ability to contribute directly to external integrations and prototype in partner environments.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, and modern SDK patterns.
- Effective communication skills, including presenting complex technical and business concepts to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of the AdTech ecosystem and how Reddit’s platform aligns with industry trends and standards.
- Contributions to developer experience through tooling, documentation, or ecosystem standards.
- Experience influencing product roadmaps and participating in release, launch, and product adoption activities in collaboration with sales, product, and engineering teams.
- Advertising industry and advertising partnerships experience.

Additional Information
