As Manager of Solutions Engineering for EMEA, you will lead a regional team of Solutions Engineers supporting the go-to-market motion across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. You will connect field sales execution, customer technical success, and global Solutions Engineering leadership while partnering with Product, Engineering, and Marketing.
The role involves developing a high-performing team, supporting technical success throughout the customer journey, engaging with enterprise customers, and traveling to customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Extend and develop a team of Solutions Engineers.
- Train, coach, mentor, and guide team members toward successful performance, career progression, and personal growth.
- Coach Solutions Engineers on technical depth and sales excellence, including discovery skills, business value articulation, proof-of-concept strategy, and executive communication.
- Collaborate with engineering teams from sophisticated technology companies.
- Help companies improve their security, compliance, and development experience.
- Visit largest customers on-site to demonstrate new features and construct solutions.
- Conduct structured one-to-one meetings, set individual performance goals, and own career development plans for each team member.
- Partner with regional sales leaders and Account Executives to balance Solutions Engineering utilization, prioritize opportunities, and improve technical win rates across the region.
- Engage directly with EMEA enterprise customers at executive and technical architect levels to build long-term relationships and ensure technical success after the sale.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing a team of Solutions Engineers or other technical customer-facing professionals, with a record of developing talent and improving team performance.
- Strong command of the pre-sales process, including discovery, technical qualification, proof-of-concept design, and connecting technical capabilities to business outcomes.
- Proven experience managing customer outcomes from the sales process through onboarding, adoption, and growth.
- Strong understanding of Linux networking and network security principles.
- Practical hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Working knowledge of identity and access management concepts, including SSO, OIDC, SAML, RBAC, mTLS, zero trust architecture, and PAM.
- Proven experience navigating complex infrastructure deployments at security-conscious enterprise organizations.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for server-side software and distributed systems.
- Fluency in English is required. Additional European language proficiency, such as German, French, or Dutch, is an advantage.
