Are you a Software Engineer with a passion for security, cloud-native technologies, and solving complex technical challenges? Join the Crypto Services team and help build and maintain critical platforms that safeguard customers, enable secure banking, and protect the bank's digital infrastructure. Previous experience in cryptography is not required; you will have the opportunity to grow into the field while working with modern technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure, resilient, and high-performing solutions as part of an agile DevOps team.
• Contribute throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design to implementation and operational support.
• Develop secure backend services and APIs supporting key management, certificate lifecycle management, and Hardware Security Module (HSM) integrations.
• Build high-quality, maintainable, and future-proof solutions using modern technologies and platforms, including Microsoft Azure.
• Analyze, optimize, and improve API performance in distributed systems.
• Work closely with security specialists, platform engineers, and product owners to deliver critical security services used throughout the bank.
• Take ownership of work, contribute ideas, share knowledge, and continuously improve software and ways of working.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Java, C#, or comparable programming languages.
• Strong focus on engineering best practices and code quality.
• Hands-on experience with Python, particularly for developing, securing, and optimizing APIs.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, with a focus on clean architecture and maintainable codebases.
• Ability to analyze, optimize, and improve API performance in distributed systems.
• A security-minded mindset and willingness to learn and grow within the cryptographic domain.
• Experience with cryptography is not required.

Working Environment

The Crypto Services team is part of ABN AMRO's IT Platforms & Technology organization and develops and operates platforms for secure banking. Services include key management, certificate lifecycle management, and HSM solutions supporting critical applications and infrastructure throughout the bank. Benefits

• Gross monthly salary of €4,634 to €6,620 in Hay scale 9, based on a 36-hour work week, including holiday allowance and a flexible benefit budget.
