Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform used by businesses to accept payments, grow revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities.
Specialist Solutions Architects are domain experts aligned with specific Stripe solutions and customer buying centers. They provide expertise on complex opportunities, support pipeline development, advise on go-to-market sales plays, and provide insights to product and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead customer teams in visualizing, strategizing, prioritizing, implementing, and measuring impact and growth with Stripe solutions.
- Partner with customers to develop strategies for embedding payment capabilities throughout their platforms for online and in-person payments, primarily using the Optimized Checkout Suite and Link solutions.
- Work with business and technology leaders to understand business strategies and define solution architectures that simplify payment processes, reduce costs and risks, and improve authorization and conversion rates.
- Act as a technical consultant on financial architecture best practices, incorporating Stripe into solution architectures and helping customers achieve return on investment.
- Understand customers' existing financial technologies and architectures through discovery workshops.
- Advise on change management efforts for product solutions and help customers and stakeholders prioritize conflicting key performance indicators.
- Create architecture diagrams to support solution and implementation decisions that accelerate deals and activations.
- Provide recommendations on Stripe product direction.
- Develop reusable assets, including value drivers, end-to-end solutions, best practices, and architecture guides.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant technologies and industry developments, and demonstrate technical thought leadership through whitepapers, conferences, and industry events.
- Approximately 25% travel is anticipated.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 7+ years of experience working in payments or fintech.
- Knowledge of ISO payment standards.
- Working knowledge of designing payment flows and architectures for large enterprises.
- Experience with global payment methods, including buy now, pay later services and wallets.
- Understanding of optimizing payment experiences for checkout conversion and advising on payment acceptance designs.
- Knowledge of integrating payment hubs with core banking systems, fraud and risk systems, sanctions screening, and money movement rails.
- Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: conversion improvement, cost optimization, network compliance, processing reliability, or card feature expansion.
- Experience designing and implementing large-scale, multi-party money movement platforms such as marketplaces.
- Ability to present persuasively and authoritatively to peers and senior leadership while facilitating collaborative discussions.
- Experience creating strategic technology directions, aligning them with tactical activities, and communicating plans across an organization.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business units, senior leaders, associates, and external vendors.
- Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating Stripe or other RESTful APIs into web applications.
- Experience with online and in-person payments, subscriptions, or related concepts.
- Experience as a subject matter expert in a relevant industry, vertical, or product.
