Details

Sentry helps developers fix errors and performance issues before users notice. The JavaScript SDK team builds developer tooling and SDKs for the modern JavaScript ecosystem.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work across SDKs supporting React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, Hono, NestJS, and other JavaScript frameworks. You will help shape tools used by millions of developers and contribute to open-source initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Work on Sentry's extensive suite of JavaScript SDKs, with a broad focus on modern framework support.
  • Develop SDKs for frontend frameworks such as React and Vue, meta-frameworks such as Next.js and Nuxt, and server-side and edge runtimes such as NestJS and Hono.
  • Plan, implement, test, document, and ship features end to end.
  • Write robust unit and integration tests and create clear documentation for internal teams and customers.
  • Use AI tools to improve productivity and solve complex engineering problems.
  • Collaborate with organizations and committees such as TC39 and the OpenTelemetry SIG.
  • Assist the Customer Operations team with critical bugs.
  • Interact with users through GitHub and industry conferences.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, web developer, or in a similar role.
  • Deep expertise developing web applications, libraries, or SDKs using TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with at least two modern JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, NestJS, or Hono.
  • Strong understanding of differences in framework rendering models, lifecycles, and runtime environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Based in the Toronto, Canada area or excited about the prospect of relocating to Toronto.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Familiarity with edge runtimes, server components, or hybrid rendering patterns across multiple frameworks.
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source libraries.
  • Experience engaging with open-source committees or working groups.
