Sentry helps developers fix errors and performance issues before users notice. The Mobile SDK team builds tools for developers worldwide and processes more than a billion events daily.
This role owns the iOS SDK, from core architecture through the final product experience. You will develop features such as Session Replay and next-generation performance monitoring, work with modern Apple technologies including SwiftUI, Foundation Models, modern concurrency, and on-device AI, and design robust APIs that operate at massive scale. You will also help shape Sentry's mobile vision, contribute to a major open-source project, and support teams with complex customer challenges.
Responsibilities
- Guide the development and architecture of Sentry's iOS SDK.
- Build features including Session Replay and next-generation performance monitoring.
- Leverage Apple's latest technologies, including modern APIs, SwiftUI, Foundation Models, modern concurrency, and on-device AI.
- Design high-quality APIs for massive scale.
- Shape the overall mobile vision at Sentry.
- Help internal teams solve complex customer challenges.
- Contribute full-time to a major open-source project.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Software Engineering experience, with a strong focus on mobile platforms and ideally SDK development or developer tooling.
- Deep experience developing for iOS using Swift and Objective-C.
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience using AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Lives in the Toronto area or is willing to relocate.
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of application monitoring and observability.
- Familiarity with low-level programming in C or C++.
- Experience maintaining or contributing to open-source libraries.
- Experience with other mobile platforms or frameworks, including Android with Kotlin or Java, React Native with JavaScript or TypeScript, or Flutter with Dart.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range is CAD $185,000 to $231,000 per year. Actual compensation depends on factors including work location, education, experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. The role is eligible for applicable employee benefit plans and programs, including incentive compensation, equity grants, paid time off, and group health insurance coverage.
