Responsibilities
- Design and ship features across native iOS and Android codebases using Swift and Kotlin, often shipping the same initiative in parallel on both platforms.
- Partner with design and product teams to translate product specifications into platform-idiomatic implementations.
- Uphold architecture, performance, and app-size standards across both platforms.
- Contribute to shared client contracts, including schemas, logging, and testing frameworks consumed by both apps.
- Identify areas where the iOS and Android codebases may drift apart and recommend improvements.
- Help engineers ramp into dual-platform work through pairing and code review.
- Participate in technical reviews and architecture discussions spanning both platforms.
- Own features end-to-end in ambiguous environments and determine when decisions should be escalated or made independently.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Deep, current, hands-on expertise in native iOS development with Swift, UIKit, and/or SwiftUI.
- Deep, current, hands-on expertise in native Android development with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Experience independently shipping medium- to large-complexity features on either platform.
- Ability to read, debug, and reason about the other platform's code.
- Strong experience with mobile architecture and maintaining two independent native codebases coherently at scale.
- Experience partnering closely with design and product teams to translate ambiguous requirements into concrete, platform-appropriate implementations.
