Details

ING Americas Technology supports and develops innovative solutions for internal and external customers across the Wholesale Banking division. This internship is focused on Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering, and Quality Assurance within the New York Technology departments.

The team is responsible for the operation, maintenance, security, and development of infrastructure components underlying business applications, including networks, databases, and servers. The team also works to maintain and improve the reliability and quality of applications and services across the Americas. The intern will assist with team operations and contribute to projects.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue and apply methods to verify and improve the Americas asset inventory (CMDB) and dependency chains.
  • Become familiar with ING's Agile Way of Working and Microsoft Azure Boards to participate in sprint ceremonies and productivity measurements.
  • Gather incident ticket statistics and prepare trend reports.
  • Collect artifacts and prepare documents to evidence effective risk controls.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate college student graduating in 2028 and pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Graduate students may also be considered for certain roles.
  • Liberal arts majors interested in careers in finance and banking are welcome to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and networks is required.
  • Programming skills are helpful, particularly Python, PowerShell, and GitHub.
  • Strong organizational ability, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
  • Attendance in the office as needed and at least one day per week.

Employment Details

  • Hourly rate: $35 per hour.
  • Full-time, paid seasonal internship.
  • Start date: June 2027.
  • Duration: 10-week summer internship.

If offered a full-time opportunity following the internship, the role will transition into ING's International Talent Program (ITP), an 18-month global traineeship involving three structured rotations in different business areas: two in New York City and one abroad. Upon successful completion, participants will move into a permanent role aligned with their strengths, interests, and performance.
