Details
Anthropic is seeking a Product Manager to build billing experiences for Claude customers across consumer, developer, team, and enterprise segments. The role partners with Engineering, Design, Growth, Trust & Safety, Support, and Finance to improve purchasing, subscription management, invoicing, usage tracking, spend controls, and self-service billing support.
Responsibilities
- Understand billing needs and friction across consumers, developers, teams, and enterprise administrators.
- Partner with Growth on purchase, upgrade, and plan-change flows, balancing conversion, clarity, and customer trust.
- Partner with Trust & Safety to prevent abuse of Claude plans and credits without creating unnecessary friction.
- Design agentic billing experiences, including Claude answering billing questions, resolving common issues, and taking billing actions with confirmation steps where appropriate.
- Partner with Engineering and Design to create consistent purchasing, upgrading, and spend-management experiences across Claude products.
- Drive product strategy and roadmap, synthesize stakeholder needs, and communicate prioritization to senior leadership.
Requirements
- 7+ years of product management experience, including self-serve purchase, subscription, or billing experiences.
- Experience shipping self-serve experiences and owning conversion and retention metrics, including running experiments to improve them.
- Strong product design instincts and the ability to clearly communicate concepts such as proration, overage, and credits.
- Experience building LLM-powered or agentic product features, with a clear perspective on when an agent should act independently and when it should request confirmation.
- Ability to discuss system design with engineers, abuse patterns with Trust & Safety, and funnels with Growth.
- Ability to balance growth, risk, and financial accuracy and explain tradeoffs clearly.
- Scrappy and resourceful approach to getting work done.
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience shipping customer tools for usage-based or hybrid pricing, including usage dashboards, spend limits, and alerts.
- Experience working with Trust & Safety or risk teams to prevent abuse of plans, credits, or free trials.
- Experience launching products in new countries, including local pricing, tax, and currency.
- Experience building self-service help experiences that reduced billing support contacts.
- Experience scaling through hypergrowth of 10x or more in revenue.
Compensation
- Annual salary: $385,000–$460,000 USD.
Work Policy
Anthropic currently expects staff to work from one of its offices at least 25% of the time. Some roles may require more time in the office.
