Grafana Labs is building AI-driven observability and analytics features as part of a skunkworks initiative (2H) to bring observability to broader business use cases via general data analytics. The team focuses on rapid experimentation, iteration, and shipping production-grade AI features that help users discover, organize, and optimize access to large datasets, and expand analytics-focused AI agents for information retrieval and other workflows. This is a remote role considering candidates in Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and ship AI-powered features that handle large datasets and support analytics-focused workflows.
  • Build and deliver high-performance, user-facing AI solutions that help users discover, organize, and optimize access to data.
  • Rapidly prototype, test, validate with real users, and iterate on LLM- or agent-powered workflows for the data engineering and analytics lifecycle.
  • Integrate agentic components with internal tools (e.g., Slack, alerting systems) and collaborate with internal data teams for dogfooding.
  • Use AI and automation tools to improve product functionality and development workflows.
  • Take ownership of solutions to ensure they are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with user workflows.

Requirements

  • Experience with LLMs, context engineering, and building applications powered by Generative AI.
  • Proven track record of delivering software into production that is actively used by users.
  • Exposure to cloud-native environments (examples given: AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience using observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.
  • Strong software engineering skills, ability to iterate quickly, and a pragmatic, product-focused mindset.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to operate autonomously in a small, highly iterative team.

Bonus Points

  • Experience building or working with agent frameworks or multi-agent workflows.
  • Experience as a data analyst or with data platforms (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Experience building tools for data engineering.

Compensation & Rewards

  • Base compensation range in the UK: A3100,000 - A3124,000 (actual compensation may vary by level, experience, and skillset). Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable), and other benefits listed by Grafana Labs.

Location & Work Arrangement

  • Remote position. Candidates are being considered in Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Spain, and the United Kingdom only.
  • Grafana Labs is a 100% remote company; the role includes in-person onboarding to meet fellow new hires.
