About the Team

The Technical Solutions Engineering (TSE) team is responsible for the success of developers and Stripe’s largest users integrating with Stripe’s platform and products. The team supports developer experience, helps users understand Stripe’s capabilities, and advocates internally for an effective and self-serve developer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver a comprehensive technical support experience for developers and complex users integrating Stripe through internal user-facing teams.
  • Develop the long-term vision and strategy for the Technical Solutions Engineering team and manage day-to-day operations.
  • Build relationships across Stripe to influence the organization toward the best possible developer experience.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop innovative ways to make Stripe’s developer experience more self-serve and impactful.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop user-facing engineers.
  • Inspire and motivate team members, support individual development, and promote career growth.
  • Define, implement, and monitor key metrics that ensure the sustainability and quality of developer support experiences.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience leading, managing, and developing user-facing engineering teams.
  • A background in software development in one or more programming languages.
  • The immediate team is based in Singapore and Japan, with US-based management in Central Time. This role requires a work schedule with meaningful daily overlap with APAC business hours.
  • For candidates based in the United States, this role is suitable only for those in Pacific Time zones working approximately 11 AM to 8 PM PT. Exact hours are flexible within that range, but APAC overlap is required.

  • Understanding of what makes teams successful and the role a manager plays in that process.
  • Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead by example, provide context, and help teammates do their best work.
  • Judgment about when to let a team work through problems and when to intervene.
  • Sufficient technical depth to ask engineers effective questions about design and integration decisions.
