The AI Deployment Engineering team ensures the safe and effective deployment of generative AI applications for developers and startups. The team acts as a trusted advisor and thought partner, helping customers identify high-impact generative AI use cases and drive them into production through strong technical guidance.

As part of the OpenAI for Global Affairs team, this role helps governments, nonprofits, educational institutions, workforce organizations, and small businesses transform their organizations through solutions such as automated content generation, contextual search, and applications built with OpenAI's latest models and technologies.

Responsibilities

Technical Enablement and Deployment

• Serve as the primary technical advisor for Global Affairs partnerships, helping organizations identify and deploy high-impact AI use cases.
• Guide partners from discovery through implementation, moving beyond pilots to sustainable real-world adoption.
• Design demonstrations, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts tailored to partner missions and operational realities.
• Translate complex technical concepts into accessible guidance for non-technical audiences.

Partner Support

• Support governments, nonprofits, educational institutions, workforce organizations, and small businesses adopting OpenAI products.
• Conduct workshops, office hours, and implementation sessions with external stakeholders.
• Develop educational content, deployment playbooks, best practices, and reusable resources.
• Identify opportunities to expand partner impact through additional OpenAI products and programs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Advise Global Affairs stakeholders on maximizing business impact from their applications and accelerating time to value.
• Experiment with and prototype solutions for stakeholders.
• Build and manage relationships with stakeholder leadership to ensure successful deployment and scale.
• Represent the voice of Global Affairs stakeholders with internal teams by gathering and relaying feedback and identifying themes for product planning.
• Use expertise in Python and JavaScript.

Requirements

• 7+ years of technical consulting or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript.
• Experience building and/or delivering prototypes on top of an API platform.
• Experience leading complex technical projects and programs involving many stakeholders.
• Ability to identify opportunities to maximize stakeholder value through the OpenAI API.
• Ability to own problems end-to-end and acquire missing knowledge as needed to ensure team and stakeholder success.
• Humble attitude and eagerness to help others with empathy.
• Ability to manage frequent context switching, work on multiple projects simultaneously, take expansive ownership, and prioritize effectively.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic environments and navigate ambiguity.
